Sustainable scrunchies from Switzerland.

The two friends Rahel and Annina came up with the idea of zouzou in 2017. Whether in the balmy south of France, on the beaches of Corsica or along the Champs-Élysées – they saw colourful scrunchies everywhere! And so the two Zurich natives decided to make their home town a better place. This led to the birth of the zouzou idea – the Zurich version of ‘chouchou’, as scrunchies are known in France.

The two young entrepreneurs employ people with learning disabilities to make the scrunchies entirely by hand. Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, socially disadvantaged people have also been helping to make them. zouzou sources its fabrics from Zurich, the whole of Europe and Japan. Thirty different scrunchies have now been created, with prices ranging from CHF 8.50 to CHF 10.50.
